Saints Row IV: Nutshots, And Dubstep, And Mechs… Oh, My!

The demo that was shown at PAX East was posted to the official Saints Row YouTube Channel this morning for all to see. As the President of the United States you’ll be able to use things such as the Inflata-ray, the Dubstep Gun, a rocket launcher masquerading as a guitar case, and an arsenal of superpowers to wreak havoc on a virtual Steelport. The demo also showcases changes to the open-world activities, new weapon customization options, and new enemies.

[NEWS] Kaz Hirai is not Sony Corporation’s New President, Says the Company

Last Friday, Nikkei, a Japanese business publication, reported that well-known Sony employee Kaz Hirai, who often makes appearances at the company’s E3 press conferences and elsewhere, would be named president of Sony Corporation by April. Additionally, it was stated that the current CEO of Sony, Howard Stringer, would remain in his position following the promotion. Sony has since come out to deny the report.

The short refutation simply reads, “Certain media reports were published on January 7, 2012 (JST) regarding Sony Corporation’s executive officers’ appointments. Sony Corporation has made no announcement in this regard and nothing has been determined at this time.”

Such a promotion, although false at this time, wouldn’t necessarily come across as surprising. Hirai has been with Sony since 1984 and was instrumental in developing the successful PlayStation line of consoles. Sony may deny reports of Hirai’s promotion, but such a thing doesn’t seem like it’s too far off in the distance.
