[NEWS] Final Fantasy: All The Bravest; You Have To See It To Believe It

John D. Jameson

Square-Enix has just released a launch trailer for the brand-new game Final Fantasy: All The Bravest.

The trailer advertises “the largest parties in Final Fantasy history,” and it’s true; Players can use literally dozens of characters at a time, all while using the series’ classic Active Time Battle system. The more a player levels up their party members, the more character slots he is awarded for use on the battlefield. The resulting battles get out of hand far more quickly than one could possibly imagine. I urge everyone to check out the trailer below and witness the frantic gameplay for themselves.

While already available in New ZealandFinal Fantasy: All The Bravest will release internationally for iOS this Thursday, January 17.

[NEWS] PlayStation Plus Coming To Vita November 19

Mat Paget

If you’re still one of the many people looking for reasons to buy a Vita, you can throw PlayStation Plus giving you free games on that list. The PlayStation Blog revealed that the subscription service will finally be making its way to the Vita on November 19, and it’s not coming alone. To kick off the service on Sony’s handheld, it will be coming with the following six titles:
  • Uncharted: Golden Abyss
  • Gravity Rush
  • Wipeout 2048
  • Jet Set Radio
  • Tales From Space: Mutant Blobs Attack!!
  • Final Fantasy Tactics: The War of the Lions (originally for the PSP)
To get in on these games for free, as well as twelve more for the PlayStation 3, you can opt in for three months at $17.99, or a year at $49.99.
This will be coming with a system update that will add the ability to send and read emails, transfer files to your Vita wirelessly, tweet URLs straight from the browser, and more.

The Future of Final Fantasy… And Videogames

Mat Paget

Square Enix showed off a real-time tech demo called Agni’s Philosophy. It’s a Final Fantasy demo created with Luminous Studio, the newest engine from Square Enix that is actually still in development. The engine is capable of presenting the same quality as pre-rendered graphics, but in real-time.

With Star Wars 1313 looking absolutely fantastic–not to mention the games that are still coming out this generation–, E3 2012 is looking to be a year of some incredibly beautiful-looking games.

But back to the demo from Square Enix. It takes place in a Middle Eastern-looking area — a very unique look for the series. In fact, it’s hard to tell the demo’s even for Final Fantasy until the leading lady reveals her face. If this is the future of Final Fantasy, it’s a future I, and I’m sure many others, will happily embrace.

But don’t get too excited; this is still just a demo. Despite that, it’s exciting to see new technology, and dream of not only Square Enix’s titles, but every single one looking this great.

I could describe the video a bit more to you guys, but I think you’d rather watch it. You can do that below.
