[GOTY] Biggest Buzz-kill Nominees

The GameSparked Team
GOTY 2012

There are great characters, and then there are those characters that if they were real, you’d avoid them like the plague. They’d show up when you’re trying to work on something, or just trying to have a good time, and completely ruin it. They’re the kind of character you hate, find annoying, or just want nothing to do with. And this is an award dedicated to those characters: The Biggest Buzz-kill of 2012.

Claptrap (Borderlands 2)
The other characters in this game treat Claptrap like an annoyance that tries too hard and doesn’t go away. This comes off as a joke, though, which is unfortunate because all of those things are almost always true. With some extremely rare exceptions, Claptrap is always either unfunny or a downer.

Dr. Tan (Dance Central 3)
Dr. Tan wants to control the minds of everyone, effectively stopping the ability to express ourselves through dance freely. What an asshole!

Marta (Hot Shots Golf: World Invitational)
Marta is not only annoying, she’s not very helpful either. When she’s not asking if you need a caddy, she’s asking you questions about the course we’re playing on. That’s your job, Marta. You’re the caddy. You even said so!

Swan (Lollipop Chainsaw)
Swan is a jealous goth kid who decided to seek revenge on everyone by conjuring zombies. And what day did he choose to do this? Juliet’s birthday. He’s a certifiable jerk.

Larry (The Walking Dead)
Larry is an asshole. No matter how much Lee helped him, he acted with nothing but aggression towards Lee. Lee gets him pills that potentially save his life. He knocks Lee out, leaving him for dead. And he never lets up. He continues to act like an asshole until the day he dies.

The Prepper (ZombiU)
The Prepper is much like a jealous girlfriend. Asking you where you’re going, telling you they’re not going to talk to you anymore, leaving you at the worst possible moment, and getting mad when you’ve done something they don’t like. Not only that, but he never stops coming back, happy to talk to you about guns, or something he’s interested in.
